Who We Are:
The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE®), an international professional member society, provides information on new materials and processing technology either via technical forums, journal publications, or books in which professionals in this field can exchange ideas and air their views. As the only technical society encompassing all fields of endeavor in materials and processes, SAMPE provides a unique and valuable forum for scientists, engineers, and academicians.


SAMPE 2024 Technical Paper 
Abstract Submissions: Call for abstracts NOW OPEN
Abstracts should concisely report the aims and outcomes of your research so that readers know exactly what your paper is about. Your abstract should be fully understandable on it's own to someone who hasn't read your full paper or related sources.
Abstract Guidelines:

• You will select one track that best aligns with your abstract topic.
• You must have a short, specific Abstract Title that indicates the nature of your Technical Paper (containing no abbreviations). 
• You will need to provide a 100-200 word abstract. Be as specific as possible as to what you will discuss in your paper - technologies or strategies covered, case studies cited, etc. This will be used by the conference committee to evaluate your submission.
• Your abstract should include all of the following:
  • Your research problems and objectives
  • Your methods
  • Your key results or arguments
  • Your conclusion 

SAMPE 2024 Technical Paper Submissions:
Technical papers are formal written research papers reviewed by industry peers. For Abstracts that have been approved for this conference, Technical Papers are due for review by January 19, 2024 and must follow SAMPE format and template. 

Timeline:

• October 1, 2023 | Abstract Submission Deadline
• November 6, 2023 | Announcement of Technical Paper abstracts selected 
• January 19, 2024 | Final technical papers due for review (no extensions will be granted due to high demand)
• January 20 - March 3, 2024 | Technical Papers go through the review process (SAMPE will be in touch with submission feedback as needed on a rolling basis) 
• March 11, 2024 | Final decision letters sent to Technical Paper authors
• April 19, 2024 | PPT Slides due

SAMPE 2024 ITAR Abstract Submissions:

• October 1, 2023 | Abstract Submission Deadline
• November 6, 2023 | Announcement of Technical Paper abstracts selected
• February 16, 2024 | ITAR Presentations due for review. No Technical paper is required. 
• February 15, 2024 | Authors will receive reviewer feedback, if applicable. 
• March 11, 2024 | Authors will receive final decision letter and next step instructions

• February 15, 2024 | Deadline to submit poster abstracts (no extensions will be granted due to high demand)
• March 1, 2024 | Announcement of poster abstracts selected
• April 12, 2024 | Final digital poster submissions due in PDF
• April 19, 2024 | Announcements of final posters selected
• May 21, 2024 |Winners announced at Opening Session of SAMPE

University Research Symposium Submissions:

This is a competitive program that sponsors selected SAMPE student members to present the results of their technical research at CAMX each year. There are categories for Senior undergraduates, as well as Masters and Doctoral candidates. The best papers presented in each student category are awarded cash prizes, while winners in the PhD category are further sponsored to present their papers at SAMPE conferences in Europe and Japan.
